How To Use The Comment Captcha Form
Since I just installed it, I wanted to test my new reCaptcha comment form plugin (you can sign up for yours for free, too. Just visit: http://recaptcha.net and sign up for a free account, and download the appropriate plugin. And, wow, is it ever easy to install, too. (Always my favorite kind of scripts)
Alright, let’s get back to the “testing” I was doing, I just simply typed in the two words in the form (and what’s extra nice is that the hearing impaired can click the audio button to hear the words) and I’m going to test whether you need a space between them or not.
Nope, you don’t have to add a space. If you can’t read the words, you can click the little circle arrows thing and get two new ones. Kewl, eh? Now I’ll see if they are case-sensitive or not.
As wonderment would have it, nope, they are NOT case-sensitive nor do they need a space. ReCaptcha makes it really easy for you (and it’s free, too).
And, no worries about the foreign characters, just type your regular keyboard ones in and click the Submit Comment button… no problemo.
I hope it helps… along with the wonderful Spam Karma 2 by Dave (which you can get here: http://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/ ) and it’s free, too.
I am so grateful for the wonderful, brilliant programmers who share so freely with those of us who don’t have their brainpower. When you get ahold of a really cool widget, plugin or script that you got for nothing… do the “good thing” and send that hard-working person a donation. Even $5 makes a difference, and it is just plain GOOD Karma all the way around.
Have yourself a spam-free day,
Donna Maher
