Funny mp3 Plus A Critical Security Patch

Maybe it’s not *totally* in line with my blog’s theme but holy cow – I got tears in my eyes laughing at the mp3 below! We all need laughter – it helps reduce pain and relieve stress!

Take A Quick Laughter Break:

Turn up your speakers and take a 3-minute well-deserved break and listen to this short but very funny mp3: 3 Old Ladies & The Accident – it’s absolutely hilarious!

Critical Adobe Reader Patch

Adobe has released a fix for 13 different vulnerabilities in its Adobe Reader and Acrobat software, widely used to handle PDF files. Learn more & get the Adobe Security Patch ASAP!

It’s critical that you patch your software ASAP because if a hacker exploited these particular vulnerabilities they could cause your computer to crash or run malicious code that could take over your system.

If you use the Adobe Reader to handle your .pdf files, please protect your computer and go get that patch and install it as soon as you can!

Everyone have a delightful day!

P.S. If you’re not yet a subscriber to jl scott’s OBTJ – do yourself a favor and sign up to this delightful, informative ezine!

That’s where I got the funny mp3 – she gives you a laugh with each issue and covers a variety of useful topics in her own inimitable style. It’s one of the few ezines I subscribe to that I ALWAYS read. She is a huge consumer advocate and keeps you informed and her info helps protect you from scams.

Are YOUR Tires Safe?

I watched this when it came out in July – but it got me to thinking since there are holidays coming up again, that many people THINK they are SAFE because they have just bought new tires for their vehicles – not really knowing if they did or not because of the cryptic codes you need to be able to read to find out.

Don’t believe your tire salesman or your dealer – check it for yourself BEFORE you buy new (or even used)tires! Your life or the life of someone you love can be in peril if you are an uninformed consumer.  Watch this consumer safety video from ABC and learn how to ‘decode’ the tire’s age before you make your next trip!

MORE about the PopTray vs. Vista saga

Well, I am VERY happy to report that thanks to a wonderful blog I discovered, yet another idea was gleaned and tested and it worked – because this time, I didn’t wait until the next day – I used the restart function to test it, and hooray, it worked!

The How-To-Geek saved my time and tons more frustration with his post about windows compatibility. I went to my PopTray folder, and right-clicked on PopTray.exe and chose properties.  Then I chose to run the program in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode, and it worked!  His site contains TONS of great info to help you with several problems.  Excellent site!

Now I won’t have to reinstall PopTray every day like I had planned, because it retains the configuration settings I had so carefully entered for around 25 email accounts.  Now I can preview my emails without downloading anything nefarious and delete spam right off the server and create rules based on the spam to prevent future garbage with the same subject or body or email.

Viva PopTray (helps keep your computer secure) and my sincerest thanks to the how to geek (whose time is MUCH appreciated)!
