Nature Is Endlessly Fascinating

Watching nature is something I never tire of — beats TV by a mile most of the time.

I just was out on my back porch and noticed a wasp ‘walking’ on a spider’s web. Bear in mind that this littly tiny spider is about 1/40th the size of this wasp. The wasp disentangles his feet from the web, flies about for just a few seconds, then lands on the web and attacks the cowering teensy spider.

Gulp! Spidey is gone in seconds, and then so is the wasp… flying off to seek another easy meal.

While I was watching the spider & wasp goings-on, I noticed a bird fluttering toward the grass over in the neighbor’s yard, flapping rather frenetically, then diving from about 3 – 4 feet above the grass toward something that was in the grass.

Oh goodness! That ‘something’ was a two-foot-long black (or very dark-colored) snake! The bird kept diving at the snake, and the snake kept wriggling up the burm. Pretty soon, the snake disappeared in the pampas grass and the bird went back to it’s previous business.

I love watching animals, birds, insects and other of God’s creatures just ‘doing their thing’ and hope you enjoyed reading about it, and will share your own nature stories in the comments section. :-))
